COMMON QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Why can't I represent myself?
Everyone has heard that "The attorney who represents himself has a fool for a client." Even attorneys hire attorneys.

Does it cost anything to speak to an attorney?
There is no charge for an initial consultation with an attorney and for any follow-up conversations prior to you hiring us.

What are your fees?
Personal Injury Cases - 33 1/3% of the settlement or judgment if the case settles without litigation or 40% with litigation. We pay for court costs and other reasonable and necessary expenses and deduct these amounts from the client's portion of any recovery.

What happens if you incur expenses in a personal injury lawsuit and there is no settlement or
judgment in my favor?
You owe us nothing if there is no recovery.

How do I hire your firm?
We can email, fax, fed ex, or mail our forms to you. We can send a representative to your location to visit with you. Click here for a free consultation.

Would I need to travel to Houston?
Maybe. If it is necessary, we can advance you the requisite travel expenses.

Do I have to file a lawsuit?
We do not file lawsuits if possible. Lawsuits are lengthy and expensive. Also, they open the legal "discovery" process which will expose any weaknesses in your case (i.e., pre-existing injuries).

How long does it take to settle my case?
Depends. Although you may accept any offer at any time, we do not advise settlement until we are of the opinion that is fair and reasonable considering the extent of your injuries. We play hardball with insurance companies and make it clear that we are willing, able, and ready to take your claims through trial.

Who makes final decisions for my case?
You are the boss. We will render legal advice and it is you who makes the final decisions.

What can I sue for?
There are many different types of damages that you may be legally entitled to recover for your injury, including actual medical expenses incurred in the treatment of your injuries, future medical expenses, loss of wages, loss of future wages, loss of enjoyment of life, mental pain and anguish, pain and suffering, future pain and suffering, disability, future disability, loss of quality of life, future loss of quality of life, impairment, future impairment, disfigurement. We never advise you to settle for just your past medical bills and lost wages.
